Coming next weekend, March 5th through 7th, it’s the Spring Antique Spectacular at the QCCA Expo Center, 2621 4th Avenue, in Rock Island, Illinois! This longstanding event, now entering its 14th year, will present more than 70 exhibitors for antiques shopping galore! The show will be brimful with a wonderful selection of fine antiques and collectibles for sale. Featured will be select antique dealers with unique merchandise from around the world. Attendees will have an opportunity, all weekend, to shop through the wide range of quality antiques. With the Antique Spectacular, there is always something to interest every collector including: furniture, art pottery, stoneware, books, prints, primitives, jewelry, silver, antique glassware, china, postcards, coins, quilts, dolls, toys, advertising, marbles, rugs, vintage textiles and period pieces. Shop, for a timeless treasure, that is new to you. November 6th through 8th, the Antique Spectacular show hours are Friday, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parking is FREE and show admission is $6 and is good for admittance all three days. Looking For Talented People

The River Bandits are looking to tap into the deep talent pool of the Quad Cities area in search of pregame talent for the 2010 season, including National Anthem performers.
Talents could include anything from singing, dancing and comedy to knife juggling, fire breathing and sword swallowing. Tryouts will be held at Modern Woodmen Park on Saturday, March 6 from 9 a.m. - 12 noon. All participants will perform in front of a panel of celebrity judges and those selected from the group of participants will receive an invitation to perform on the field prior to a selected game at Modern Woodmen Park this summer.
In addition to the performance tryouts, the stadium will be open to the public for an open house. Guided tours will also be provided allowing fans a behind the scenes look at Modern Woodmen Park. www.riverbandits.com
